Blackberry Style 9670A new entrant in the BlackBerry range is being planned by Research in Motion (RIM) and it is already getting plenty of attention, because it will sport a flip form factor, which the Canadian manufacturer has never used in the past.

The BlackBerry Style 9670 will retain several key features of the range, including a physical QWERTY keypad to make it adept in the arts of messaging, but like the recently launched Torch, it will be the slightly retro-feeling flip design that marks the biggest departure from established design.

At the moment the Style is not being announced for launch outside of the US, but if it proves to be popular, it would not be surprising to see it touch down in the UK and elsewhere.

In terms of specs, the BlackBerry Style will have a five megapixel camera accompanied by an LED flash, integrated GPS for navigation and Wi-Fi connectivity for web access. It will also have a microSD memory card slot, allowing users to add up to 32GB of extra storage.

RIM is going to launch the Style in the US at the end of the month, which means it will not be long before its success can be measured. The specs mark this out as a mid range handset.
