The Samsung Galaxy Ace?

A new addition to the Galaxy range of smartphones is coming from Samsung after a press image was leaked online this week.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace is going to be smaller than the Galaxy S and thus appeal to the midrange mobile buyer, according to Phandroid.

The Galaxy Ace will run version 2.2 of Android and is likely to sport a 3.5 inch touchscreen display when it makes its first appearance during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event next month.

The original Galaxy S was noted for its resemblance to the iPhone 3G S and now that the Galaxy Ace is inbound with a display of exactly the same proportions as Apple’s device, these aesthetic similarities will be even more pronounced.

The Galaxy Ace will keep its hardware specs a little below the top of the market with an 800MHz processor, a five megapixel camera and a small amount of onboard storage, which will be supplemented by a bundled 2GB microSD memory card.

Expect to see the Samsung Galaxy Ace arrive in the UK following its MWC 2011 unveiling, which should give users on a budget yet another option for Android-based fun later in the year.
