BlackBerry Curve 3G now in violet

Network provider T-Mobile has secured an exclusive version of RIM’s BlackBerry Curve 3G, which features a smoky, violet colour tint to help it stand out from its stable mates.

T-Mobile released a fairly cryptic statement in which it spoke about this new smoky, violet Curve 3G as if it was a pair of designer jeans but in short it is attempting to sell it as a kind of must-have fashion accessory, rather than a mid-range smartphone with excellent messaging capabilities.

In terms of specs, the new Curve 3G will be identical to its siblings, sporting a two megapixel camera on the rear, high speed 3G network connectivity for browsing and a full QWERTY keypad with all types of email service supported in the native software.

There is no doubt that this is one of the more stylish BlackBerry smartphones on the market and as RIM pushes to win a younger audience, it will need to roll out more handsets like this.

The manufacturer seems to be doing a good job of attracting youngsters with disposable income in the UK, as it was reported earlier this week that last year it outsold the iPhone.
