    Windows Phone 7 Handset

    Upgrades in 2011

It was recently announced that Microsoft would be launching a significant update for its Windows Phone 7 range of handsets in January next year, but now it looks like a second revision will be made just a month later.

The software giant will be making the first update available after the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next month, with new features, like the ability to cut and paste text and other content, being made available on smartphones like the HTC HD7 and the Samsung Omnia 7.

In February the Mobile World Congress is being held and now there are rumours that another update is scheduled for launch at this second key event.

This news comes from WinRumours, where it is being claimed that enhanced multitasking, increased user customisation and the ability for apps to download content without having to exit the program, will be among the improvements made in round two.

Although Microsoft has not confirmed this suggestion, one of its executives recently stated that some new features would not appear in January’s update and would be saved for MWC, which seems as good as an authentic affirmation of these plans.
